The Lazy Way to Increase Energy

There are many things we are taught as
youngin’s that we need to learn in order to grow.
We are taught to walk, talk, get dressed and so on.

Conversely, there are many things we DO NOT need to learn
in order to grow. These involuntary actions are
how to swallow food, how to sneeze and how to breathe.

I was on a plane ride back from Florida a
while back sitting next to a Triathlete. He was amazed at
someone my size competing in them as well. I was
practically twice his size.

He looked me head to toe after I returned from
the latrine and asked, “How does someone your size go the distance?”

“Its all in the breathing,” I said.

Generally, when I talk to people about how to breathe
they almost always respond with,
“Yeah, I know how to breathe.”

My comment is, “We ALL know how to breathe – we’re born breathing.
Yet, breathing to sustain life and breathing to
increase ENERGY and Endurance are two different things.”

That’s why endurance athletes are amazed when
they apply my breathing techniques
to their training. Their energy increases rapidly
from several breathing patterns to add to
their endurance arsenal. And in minimal amounts of time.

Meaning, if they start 3 minutes into the race 6 minutes
later they can feel the energizing effects already hit them.
It instantly wipes out any soreness, and Charlie Horses vanish.

Bulldoze Your Fear – New Visual

A few weeks ago I was sitting at a stoplight
on my way to pick up my daughter from

I looked to my left and saw a construction
site with a bunch of workers dressed in
Carhartt overhauls. Their breath misty white.

Some stood with shovels and tools
while heavy machinery
effortlessly did the work.

My eyes went to the bulldozer.
Guys watched as it plowed
through a huge pile of black soil
peeking out of the white snow.
After coming down off the slight grade,
it turned around
to plow back through the rest
of the pile. Just then the light turned green.
And I drove off.

I drove off thinking about that bulldozer and that
pile of dirt. The bulldozer
is us. The dirt is kinda like
the fear or uncertainty we face in life.

How we deal with fear tells a lot about who we are.

We can go around the pile and never confront it. We can sit
there and never try, or we can plow through our fear and come out the other
side empowered and ready for the next challenge.

There is a strange but wonderful feeling when you face
your fears. Plus, I’m sure when you reflect on the times
you were successful were the times you plowed through
fear to come out on top.

So I came home and drew this sketch as a visual reminder for
you. You can pin it up on your computer. Feel free to send this Success Visual to anyone in your life who is frozen with fear when making a decision. It will

Am now just recovering from an amazing fitness
seminar last week hosted by Matt Furey.

Yes, I was fairly sore from some great workouts that
Matt and his gang of fitness fanatics put us through.

I met a great number of my clients
who purchased products from me in the past. Was awesome to meet
them. But what I enjoyed more was working
out with them.

Side note: Yes, Sergeant “X” did chew my
ass out and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Not been in an
environment like that since football drills. Boy, did it bring it all back.

Anyway, my goal was to be there and
learn as much as I could in order to improve
my fitness and in turn improve yours.

I went to devour information that can help me
and in turn help you. All business.

While doing some of the exercises Matt and
the presenters took us through, I noticed a couple
people standing in the back. Not participating.
Not many though just a few.

I thought how could you come here and
not get in the game.

Maybe they had their reasons why to “ride the pine.”
An nagging injury perhaps. Maybe they were afraid to look stupid.
I don’t know.

Truth is, when you TRY, good things happen. Especially, in your mind.

When you are being taught something
and you immediately apply the information —
your mind holds on to 90% more info than if you simply
take mental notes and get a whopping 7% retention.

Personally, I’m not very good at spectator sporting.
I like being in the action. Even if I suck at something, I’m getting in there.
Could be the reason I watched a total of 2.5 football games
this past year. I get itchy when I sit too long.
My mind and body want to be playing not

Theodore Roosevelt said something profound on the
subject of TRYING.

“Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs,
even though checked by failure…than to rank with those poor spirits
who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in
a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.”

Or as ‘Ole Vinnie Boy says, “Tis better to DARE GREATLY
than to sit on the sideline wishing you had.”

It’s all about taking risks. Even if you others laugh at you.
Even if you have no idea what you are doing. Even
if you’re not very good at something.

You can apply this quote to your fitness, your business
and you can apply it to LIFE.

I admire people who try. No matter how bad they are.
In college, our coaches always said, “Don’t care if you make a mistake.
Make it going 100%. Never sit. Never hesitate. That’s when you
get your butt kicked.”

When you sit on the sidelines eventually you’ll regret
not having done the very thing you came to do.

Some of you read my newsletters each and everyday
but never take action to TRY. For me this is equal to sitting
on the sidelines. And this is okay for some.

But for those who dare greatly; for those
who want to improve
your health and fitness, man, you gotta try.

That way, you’ll never hear yourself say
‘woulda, coulda, shoulda.’

Take charge of your health.

Erase Fear and Self Doubt Instantly

Okay, okay, so the Bears took one on the chin two nights ago.

I got blasted with emails from two kinds of
Palkoholics yesterday.

The first group wanted to let me know my team lost.
One guy even dug up an email from
a few weeks ago with the prediction I made.
Good stuff Maynard.

I like when others hold me accountable. It means
they are in the game.

The other group of Palkoholics I heard
from were the ones focused on themselves
by investing in Linebacker Fitness.
People who know to hold themselves accountable
with their health and fitness.

Gobbling up Linebacker Fitness
in droves, these doers are sick and tired
of being overweight and out of shape.
They want to change their life for the better.

They are done with their old selves. They want
to save their health from spiraling out of control. People who are tired of risking
all kinds of diseases from adding more poundage to their
frames. Enough is enough. To those I applaud your efforts.

Thy will be done.
