Excuses are good

The other day I was sitting in my office
and the clock read 10:15 am.   I had not gotten a workout in.

The challenge was I needed to leave to pick my girls up from kindergarten at 10:30.

I told myself I am going to find a way
to exercise. Period. End of story.

I put on my snow gear and went outside
and ran a mile. Snow flurries flew in my face.
The sting of winter gripped my cheeks like
grandma greeting me at a family gathering.

My Keds hit the pavement every five feet.
I was trucking and I made it back my warm
abode.  Hurried in past the kitchen threshold
and the clock read – 10:30am.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Many people make the excuse that
there is no time to exercise.
Reality is, there is. And any time
deposited into your fitness bank account – counts.

Be it 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 17 minutes – the excuse
you dont have time is well – an excuse.
Excuses are good for crafting interesting conversation.
Thats about it.  Make the time so you dont
stand and whine later in front of the bathroom mirror.

Winners find a way to win.

Winners also find a way to exercise.

Be a winner today.

Cleveland Sweeps LA

So the game on TNT last night was
the Cavs vs the Lakers.

And the CLEVELAND Cavaliers
swept the Lakers in regular season play.

How awesome is that.

So sick of hearing about Kobey.

Hopefully the Cadaviliers will take
it all the way this year.

In hearing Lebron James talk about who
the Lakers secured to guard him
in the offseason, Ron Artest, “He is a strong
player with quick hands and quick feet.”

“But if he one ups me down on HIS side
of the court, I will for sure try and get him
on MY side of the court.”

STOP.

Let’s talk quick feet.

My junior year I wanted to work
quick feet. So I began a routine
that later became known
as Linebacker Fitness.

The exercises I teach in it will give
you quick feet.

I knew I had to improve. Whispers were coach
was talking about cutting back on
my playing time cause I was slow.

End result after training like a madman
this exercise all summer:
Two big sacks against Cincinnati.

End of season I had 19 tackles for a loss
all from giving myself
quick feet and more speed.

If you are on an athletic team
and want to be Lebron like quickness
and agility – train this exercise.

Get uncomfortably numb with moving
it in and around your body.  Do it everyday
and you will gain more speed and quickness
than you ever imagined possible.

No matter what sport you play, football, basketball,
hockey, soccer, lacrosse and so on – LB Fitness gives

Get Addicted to This

There are all kinds of addictions.

Some people look at the word addiction and instantly
get a negative reaction – self included.

Yet, what drives people to exercise
every day is the dopamine and serotonin that
releases when you exercise.

This has an addictive quality. Some call it
a runners high. Some want to know if you can
experience it without running.

Most definitely.

The other day I was exercising looking in the glass pane window of
my porch sliding door looking at the image of a person
staring back at me. Sweat lines
dripped down my face.

Moving my body up and down
doing Linebacker Fitness.

That person had the eye of the tiger.

The thrill of chasing a goal.

That person was in the zone.

He was kickin off major fat cells effortlessly.

Half grinning -  half growling, loving every second of it.

Now when one is in this powerful state,
you are aware of time and space.
Yet, youre not.  For example, you can watch the clock
even keep tabs on how many minutes
are going by as you do a particular exercise.

At the same time an hour can pass without even
knowing it and you want to do more but
be forced to get on with the rest of your day.

Its a wonderful state to be in.

What kind of world would it be if
you were not addicted to anything good.

Be pretty lame if you ask me.

Get addicted to this and you
will live longer, look younger, be immune
to both critics and flu critters – the same.

Get addicted, get moving.

Dont Just Overload on Football

Lots of football on this weekend!

While your snackin’ you could also be
a crackin that fat from your frame.

But in a whole body kind of way.
One that strengthens and tones
your upper chest, back and legs.

One tip you may consider is what I do during games.
I like to see how many LB Fitness sets can I do during an entire one.

Yeah, once the commercials come on, its a perfect time
to bust out 5, 6, 7 sets of Linebacker Fitness.

Then you can relax with peace of mind
while your favorite team chases the Lombardi Trophy.

Make the Big Play Easily and More Often

We are in the thick of football season
with the national championship wrapping
up last night and the NFL playoffs beginning soon.

Its easy to pick up on teams whose
players are mentally tough and can execute
with discipline.

I never really thought of it before but
when your practice Gridiron Mind Power
being stronger mentally is a natural outcome.
However this is not the only output.

It is known that we only use 3% of our brains
true capacity. Imagine what must be up in
the 97% of whats untapped.

That is where Gridiron Mind Power comes in.
My program allows you to access parts
of your brain where magic happens.

I remember sitting in my desk chair
in coaches office amazed at the BIG plays Id make on the field.
I had this feeling over and over during a championship career
where I never had a losing season.

Yes, I had a wonderful supporting cast that
made my job easy as heck.

At the same time, the reason I could sit back and smile in my chair
was I had an uncanny way of seeing plays happen longgggg before we ever took the field.

I could activate my senses (all six, yes I said six) stimulating my imagination further,
making the best Bose system in a 3-d movie
environment seem like a generic home movie.

This is cause I had a burning desire to be the best
with the skills that were handed me.

And that is what I strive to do when reaching
out to young athletes in high schools and colleges
is to find those who have a burning desire to improve
their level of play and provide the tools for success.

That is why I set up a coaching program that meets periodically
during the off-season to drill these exercises so by the time
season rolls around you are well on your way to making
the big play more easily, more often.

What is One of My Goals

I’ll let you in on a little secret.

This past holiday season, I quietly wrote
into my journal,
“I will DO more hands-on coaching in Twenty-Ten.”

For a long, long time I’ve wanted to
set up a fitness coaching program.

Many of you have asked for it.

I thought of having weekend workshops…
However, after a weekend workshop most folks
fall back into their old ways.

I thought of inviting people into my house and garage…
But do I really want hoards of folks trampling in snow and mud into my abode?

I thought of coaching calls…
Calls are great but I know there are many visual
learners out there, self included, that want to learn
by seeing and DOING.

I thought of many different ways to deliver this content.

So I kept brainstorming ways to help folks
and help them over the LONG haul not just in the short term.

Then the planets aligned (a key in achieving success),

broadcasting to anyone who has a need that matches my goal.
