A Real Warrior’s Meditation

pat tillman on light towers

Was watching a special on Pat Tillman,
the courageous NFL athlete, who volunteered
to become an Army Ranger after 9/11.

You probably know the story better when
I talk about the guy
who was killed by friendly fire.

But that’s not what I want to talk about today.

There was a time in college when
a photographer snapped a pict
for a magazine of him in his favorite spot
before a game.

This photo ended up in the head coaches lap
tossed there by an assistant coach.

“Uh, coach, is Pat allowed to be up there?”

The spot he was seen in an “L position” kicking back, legs crossed was
one of the large stadium light platforms that overlooked
the stadium.

When pressed what the heck he was doing
by his coach he answered, “Every Thursday night
I climb up there to be alone and meditate on the
upcoming game.”

Wowwww.

Every athlete has a success ritual before a game.

Some athletes like noise other athletes like silence.

Its apparent this man used a space where the only
sound was the wind whistling by.

Meditation is a useful tool when preparing your
mind for battle in any endeavor.

Sales presentations.

Athletic events.

School board meetings.

Coaching the little league soccer team.

And yes, even fitness.

Its like the quiet that exists before the storm.

But what makes me laugh is when I hear
hear these muscle heads say mind power has nothing
to do with your performance, cept reps and sets.

Its all about how much and how hard
for these neanderthals.

Not according to Pat and definitely not
according to this writer.

Make time each day to center
yourself and if for nothing else to get in the right frame of mind
to kick some a– like Pat did on the football and battle field.

I have a special offer coming your way
very soon, so stay tuned, bro.

A warrior who loves meditation,

Vince Palko

Someone Right Now is Doing This

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Someone, somewhere, right now is sweatin’ their booty off.

Someone, somewhere is making the right food choice.

Someone, somewhere has turned the corner
from whence they came – an overweight, low energy person
to a vibrant, lean and strong healthy person.

They probably just looked in the mirror and realized their efforts
are paying off. And chances are great 2 seconds ago, they smiled back
at that mirror too.

Wouldnt you like for that person to be you?

Isn’t it time you put down the extra helping to
satisfy some other emotional hardship that exists in your life.

Isn’t it TIME to get your life on track with fitness.

I suspect its been naggin at you lately and YOU have been “meaning”
to get around to it.

Well, these doers are no different than you.

Cept they had enough of the previous lifestyle they
were living and simply made the switch.

Well, there is no time like NOW to cease the day
and mark April 28 as the day you made your fitness
comeback.

If this is you, and if you want to have a pro
athlete’s physique – I wanna help.

I want to be apart of your turnaround.

I have several courses that can help you too.

Here are just a few:

http://www.meltmanboobs.com

http://www.tripleyourendurance.com/increase_energy-endurance.html

http://www.vincepalko.com/lose_weight-toolkit.html

When you are ready to make the switch
everything becomes easy.  Its easy to make
the right food choice.  Its easy to exercise…
its easy to lighten the load on your belly with
one less helping– only when you take the first
step in deciding you want to CHANGE.

Take the first step in grabbing a program
that will make your exercise fun once and for all.

Do so immediately and be glad you did within a few short weeks!

All my best,

Vince Palko

Are You CRAZY?!?!?

Friday, April 9th, 2010

Excuse me while I vent a bit.

In this rant, not only will I blow off some steam,
but you will also get some good tips on
making better food choices.

I spent some good one-on-one
time with my daughters the last couple of
days. While together it came to my attention
that some grotesquely horrible food
choices were given to them by their sitter.

Get this, my five year-old told me that
one time the babysitter was feeding
them strawberries and put a packet
of sugar (“the kind people put in coffee” as she put it)
on the cut up berries in her bowl.

And get this, my daughter told the sitter
she didnt want any and the person over ruled
her decision and said, “No, this will make it taste better.”

Excuse me?!?!?

Its impossible to make fruit taste better-
its already SWEET as sin without a load of sugar.

Need I mention this person has
a few extra LBs and I have a sneaking suspicion
where her extra cals are coming from.

A dash of sugar here and there cant hurt.

BUT ON FRUIT.  Why squelch natures goodness
with artificial sweeteners?

This is absolutely unnecessary.

Its our duty as parents and supervisors to give our
children the best information, tools and habits possible
to live a healthy and happy life!

Some people wonder why dropping a few pounds
can be challenging. Yet, if one checks his trash can,
the answers will be right in front of his nose.

So here is one tip to try:
Experiment with one thing at a time, like
trying fruit with NO SUGAR.

If you want to taste your food in
a whole new way, slice up
a piece of garlic and chew it up.

100 percent guaranteed your taste
buds will reset and everything you
eat after that will have 50% more flavor.

Try it.

And in the mean time, thanks for
letting me get that off my chest.

Make today great!

Best,

Vince Palko

This is worse than smoking

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Emotions have so much to do with your well being.

How you feel dictates what you choose to eat.

Eating good food vs junk
directly affects your health.

Your health can be tied back
to your emotions
its one big circle.

There is one emotion that is worse
than smoking when it comes to
providing superior or subpar health.

Instead of telling you what it
is – I’ll let you guess
and will print the answer in my
Success Club newsletter for February
going out soon.

In the mean time, I’ll look forward
to reading your guesses.

Have a magical day,

Get Fit as a Fireman

Friday, February 5th, 2010

A couple of weeks ago I enjoyed an amazing birthday party
for my littlest child. The bash took place at an indoor playground.

One father at the party was a fireman. He was rock solid.
He happened to be on his 48hr “off the clock” run.

All the moms were gaga over him. Must have something
to do with being a sweaty fireman.  Kinda the same
with being a big sweaty artist. Well, not really.

I asked him where he trains and he said his
basement. The other place he trains is his entire
house chasing his kids around.

I grinned cause I could relate.

A guy/gal who trains alone is a guy/gal who reaps major results.
You dont need someone to train
with someone to see a change in your body style- just a willingness to get after it everyday.

That is why Linebacker Fitness works
so well for my clients. It’s a self contained gym
in one small gizmo.

Train in your cellar. Train in your garage. Train in the firehouse…
Doesnt matter where you take it ’cause when
you do it like a linebacker – when done you
are revitalized and refreshed. Might even have the most amazing
uplifting feeling and energy pumping through
your veins.

Best,

Vince Palko

Get Tough and Buff Fast

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

“My teammate is a linebacker and he owns one.”

Twas typing away on my laptop and heard a car commercial glamorizing linebackers.

Huh?

I guess linebackers do make incredible sales tools.

Maybe its because they are lean and mean.

Maybe its because of they are intimidating.

Maybe its because they are the ultimate sign of mental and physical toughness.

Well, you don’t have to play the linebacker position ONLY to be as tough and buff as one.

You can BE ONE by following Linebacker Fitness I’ve assembled.

If you didn’t notice, its now in a downloadable format.

You can get it here while it remains an Linebacker Fitness e-product.

Best,

Vince Palko

Smile when it hurts most

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

What do John Elway, Hines Ward and Brian Pruitt
all have in common?

First, a lil diddy.

Back in college it came down to the
biggest game of my collegiate career – BG vs Central Michigan-
winner went to the Mac championship.

Central had a top rated running back that year name Mike Priutt.
Nothing did I like better than having the challenge rest on the dee to stop this guy.
The first play from the line of scrimmage was a sixty yard
scamper to the end zone by Mr Pruitt. After that, he was lucky to get fifty yards total.

On one play, I remember drilling Mike
into the ground with everything I had.
He let out a gust of wind emptying his lungs…. “Umph!”

“Ya come on my side a-gain and yur gonna get more of dhat,”
I whispered in his ear hole.

“Vince, May God be with you!”

“What?!?!?!?!”  I thought.

How can this be? I leveled him and
his response was “May God be with you.”

My strategy for mentally messing with his head was trumped.

People who practice mental toughness
have a knack for never letting you know an ounce
of their pain inside. Theyre tough as nails.
They eat thunder and crap lightning.

John Elway was another example of this.  No matter how hard
a linebacker would thump him he always stood-up displaying that
cheshire grin. In fact, no matter if the Bronchoes were behind or ahead
he alwas seemed to have the same expression. As a fan
on the opposing team it was frustrating as heck to watch.
Can you imagine being an opposing player
and seeing that when you line up for every snap.

Heines ward is another example if you want a more
recent person who practices this “smile into adversity” principle.

After every jaw rattling tackle he pops up off the ground
with that cheesy smile. It almost looks fake if it were not
plastered on his face – all game long.

So is this another one of my many ole football stories
that I mindlessly pound out that have zero to do with your life.

Hardly.

There are many folks who are in a world of hurt.
Maybe not physically but mentally.

If you are unemployed.
If you are facing foreclosure.
If you are at odds with your employer.

Basically, if you are living life… chances are you are being challenged
now more than ever.

So my advice is smile into adversity. Smile when it hurts most.

Dont let the circumstances get the best of you;
less you give your power away to people, places and things
that dont count in the grand scheme of things. Or the big picture.

When you smile when you dont feel like it, you instantly change
your energy.  You change the way people respond
to you. In essence, you activate your FAITH muscle trusting
everything will be alright in the future.
And FAITH is one of the key components to success and turning your life around.

If you’ve been inspired by this daily message,
then you will want to check out my new book,  Tackling Life’s Problems,
that’s loaded with similar stories and success style
games you can apply instantly in your life and business.

You can buy it on Amazon or you can order it off my site
and receive several bonuses along with it.

Your choice.

I look forward to hearing your results applying the principles
of success that I teach. Here is that link again to Tackling Life’s Problems.

Bye, Bye Girly Man

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Arnold Schwarznegger once characterized those as
weak and flabby men as “girly men.”

I’ve seen a couple shots where the Governator
has become a bit droopy himself, but thats for a different
conversation. A different time.

These girly men he referred to are folks who
have a tenancy to sit more than they stand.
To walk more than they run. To eat more than they burn.

These girly men with flabby boobs have to understand one concept and one only.

You dont have to be a strappin’ gym rat in order
to have a well built frame and strong physique.

You dont even have to lift an ounce to tone
and tighten the way I teach.

All you have to do is cut out ten minutes of your
day and devote it to a routine I call Upper Body Armour.

These exercises like the Samson Smash and Pushing Sand
are considered weird and unusual. Yet, they deliver results
in a major way.  Plus, you wont have that naggin soreness
the following day.

If you want in on this ridiculous low tag, then rush on over to
Win the Man Boob Battle
and take advantage of this low offer.

If you do it NOW, I’ll even mail you a couple extra unannounced bonuses
(I guess they are announced now) to your doorstep that arrive
with this amazing DVD. –> Win the Man Boob Battle

Ciao for now,

Vince Palko

Man Boob Melters

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

A reader asked if my course on melting
man boobs has any pushup routines in it?

Below is my response.

Pushups are perfect forms of movement
for building upper body strength and I’ve done quite a few over the
course of my athletic career and beyond.

In many varying forms no less. Yet, there are only
so many movements you can do.

Plus sometimes, I dont feel like getting
on the ground to do them.

Am I lazy you jest.  Well, perhaps. However I make up
for it in the meditative routine I follow daily.
And I have yet to feel the same pump even from pushups.

You’ve heard the overused phrase “work
smarter not harder.”  Well, let me use it once again!

This arsenal of weapons strengthen and tone your upper
body in ten minutes a day. Sometimes I go for more, some days less.

This is the same routine my old coach developed
and shared when I was recovering from surgery.

Ones that can be done a few minutes before
you get into the shower.

Ones that you can do right after a workout as
a warm down session.

And yes, ones that replace a workout if you are just starting out.

But to answer your question, NO, no pushups included.

If this interests you, Id suggest sprinting on over
here and grabbing the DVD plus freebies while you
can:  Win the Man Boob Battle

Blast those embarrassing
man boobs away by taking the first
step, and grabbing my unique course while
its still at a ridiculously low price.
Win the Man Boob Battle.

Best,

Vince Palko

When fans take it too far

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Following USC’s loss on Saturday,
millionsof Facebook statuses wrote
quarterback Aaron Corp is a deadman.

Hmmm. Millionsof death threats for losing a game?

What have we become.

And …

Get a life!

As if a young athlete these days doesnt
have enough pressure on them from the media
and their coaches. Then they receive this kind of feedback.

Let me let you in on something.

If your happiness rides on a college football
game week in and week out – you may
as well pack it in. Again, get a life.

As a young man growing up I heard
what all my idols did after a loss.

The great Jack Lambert after losing a game
hid in an old broom closet and wept like
a little child. Only to be found by the equipment manage
2 hours after everyone had left the locker room.

My coach Gary Blackney shared a Chris Spielman story
that was something similar.

True champions hate to lose. And yes, losing does
happen every now and again.

My daughters soccer team lost royally
this paast weekend. One of the best players
came up to me afterwards and stomped her cleats into
the turf, “I hate losing, Coach Palko.”

Me too.

My point in sharing all this is …
No one. I mean no one. If they
are worth their salt puts more pressure
on themselves then a high performing athlete.

No one if they have a championship mindset
is going to be down on themselves more than
the high powered athlete.

So save your hate mail. Save your energy death threaters.
You are just a nobody who has nothing better to do with your time if
life depends on your team getting to the BCS championship.

What have you been knocked down with recently.

Anything?  Well, join the club. Thats life.

One of the best things sports teach us is this.
When you face adversity. When you experience hardship.
Its easy to curl up and quit. Those who get up
and dust themselves off and move on are the winners.

No, they are champions.

Be a champion today!

Vince Palko
