Gratitude for What Is

Tagged along with the girls
to see Soul Surfer this past weekend.

Coming out of the movie I asked
my nine year-old, “What’s one thing you are grateful for?”

Her response, “…My arms!”

Now I am not spoiling the movie because
if you Google it, you’ll see what
Im talking about.

‘Twas a great example of an instant gratitude generator leaving the theater.

My daughter’s friend, who joined us, tried to snapping
her seat belt in the car afterwards with ONE arm.

Subtle realizations of enjoying the simple things
in life (like cutting fruit) and being grateful for what
you have NOW are huge life lessons.

So let me ask you a question:
If you had only one leg and were laid
up in the hospital what do you think
would be on your mind?

“If only I would have used my legs more
often and taken advantage of them
while I could.”

I think this would be a common feeling or response.
Dont you?

Shoot, just being laid up for long
periods of time makes one want to get up
and move her body.

Appreciation doesnt have to come
too late. It doesnt have to come once
something is lost.

You can begin today to appreciate
yourself and your body… by giving it what
it needs–exercise.

When you do this you will open up
yourself to great things.  You will be in
top 5% of our population that has
a healthy glow about them.

Go out and get after it.
