Do This When it Hurts

Picture this.

You are in a foreign country, you don’t
speak the native tongue, you have to try
and function in society. You dont know anyone.
You have never been homesick a day in your
life– until now. Yet you still need to show up
at a job and be at the top of your game.

This is how I felt when I lived in Germany,
before I met all the wonderful people over there.

For a few months it was overwhelming and
in many ways the new experience hurt.

The same was true for being thrown into
a college 3-a-day session summer camp
as a “green” high school recruit.

In both cases, I did something most other
dudes had no interest in most likely.

I journaled.

I journaled my anxieties. My fears. My excitements.
I journaled who I met and what their names were.
I journaled how I missed home and when the
next time I’d see my old friends and family.
I journaled my injuries and lacerations–
yes, lots of stapled up nose entries. Hah.
I journaled just about any high and low in each life adventure.

Journaling is good for you on many levels.
Namely, it gets your emotions out of your body.
It eases the pain and frustration when you see it
all paper. Reason is it’s no longer bottled up inside.

I recommend this to my coaching clients and
I will recommend it to you.

Having financial problems — just journal it baby.

Having trouble dealing with your kids or spouse — just journal it baby.

Every seeming bad thing — just journal it.
Every good thing, do the same.

And what you will find is you will feel more relief.
You will have less stress and the universe
will line up to give you support in that troubled area.

This is how I see it based on this tool that I
have used ever since I was a weed lad
wet behind the ears back in the summer of 1990.

It is pretty intimidating to an 18 year old to think about 5 straight
weeks of 3-a-days and getting your ace handed to you.
So how do you handle it?

One day at a time — is what my intuitive mind suggested.
And journaling focused my mind for one day at a time mentality really well.

You can get through anything you are faced with right now.
With this one day at a time mindset.

If you would like to get additional coaching on
handling challenges. Yes, this scratches the surface
for the tools and techniques I apply , make sure to send
a reply note with “I want more coaching Vince”
in the header and we can go from there.

Be well baby!

Vince

Comfort vs. Discomfort

Excuse me while I rant a while…

If you want to be more
successful, become more COMFORTABLE with things that make you UNCOMFORTABLE.
I heard this once and it stuck.

Take any area of your life.

- Fitness.
- Business/Career.
- Relationship.

In all three areas you can improve
what you want out of life by cherishing
discomfort.

This is challenging cause we are wired
to run from pain, seeking pleasure, which
is called hedonism.

However, this is backwards if you want
to achieve anything.

What happens when you lift a weight.
Especially a weight that pushes your limits.

Is there any comfort in that?

Hardly.

There is much DISCOMFORT.

Yet, this is what forges your muscle into
thick hard steel.

Its the discomfort of putting your body through
rigorous workouts that leads to the peace and
comfort of a body at rest.

Just like a physical weight, your character is strengthened
through challenging times.

The same is true for virtually anything.

The trouble with our society is this…

We are a world running from DISCOMFORT
and then expects COMFORT. I keep thinking of the
scene in the movie, “WALL•E” wherein the future
everyone will be floating around on hovering
lounge chairs in COMFORT but big as elephants.

So how can this be. Comfort without DISCOMFORT
is virtually impossible.

Its the discomfort of studying long hours
that leads to a doctor becoming a brain surgeon
and his salary.

Its the discomfort of writing that leads
an MBA or Doctorate that eventually leads
to a nice comfortable job.

Its the discomfort of weathering a relationship storm
that then leads to one with smooth sailing.

Its the discomfort of getting on a phone to
chat with a prospect over and over that
eventually leads to making your own JING.

Through discomfort we REACH comfort.

You cannot experience comfort without
the rigor of discomfort.

So what is wrong with our society.
Its the thought of deserving comfort
without wanting to put a little sweat into
what we want to get out of life.

You want a better body, put a little sweat into it.

You want a better relationship, put a little sweat into it.

You want to double your income, put a little sweat into it.

Bottom line: Learn to LOVE discomfort and watch how COMFORTABLE you become.

Dont be a sissy.

Like my Daddy taught me, a little sweat never hurt anyone.

If you want to put a little sweat into it and FAST,
make sure you run over and grab my Get Fit as a Fiddle
course called LB Fitness. http://www.vincepalko.com/linebacker_fitness.html

And in just a short while, you will enjoy the COMFORT of
looking in the mirror and seeing who is staring back at you.

Best,

Vince Palko

World Champ Who Uses Gridiron Mind Power

So a little late on congratulating the Packers
for a BIG win last weekend. Its one week ago.

Old news, right?

Wrong.

In Sports Illustrated there is a picture
of one of my former Gridiron Mind Power
students holding up a front page newspaper
that reads “World Champs.”

You can see it in this link, here if you scroll to the bottom.
Sports Psychology for Football

His name is Diyral Briggs.

I can remember the Monday following
the big upset versus Minnesota in ’07 when
Diyral walked up to me as I was
passing him on my way to the Bowling Green State University offices.

Elated was he.  Stopping me to chat about
the game and his experience using the drills
I taught him and the rest of the players, I smiled inside.

“What you taught us was awesome!
It really helped ALL of us. I’ve done visualization
exercises in the past but nothing like
Gridiron Mind Power. Thanks for taking
the time to teach it – now I can perfect it
and use it the rest of my career.”
Sports Psychology for Football

What I taught them was nothing new.
This system has been applied and tweaked
over the last 20 years of my career on the gridiron–
piecing the info together on my own. Not really knowing
what mind power formula I was concocting.

However, not many coaches have studied the
power of this to know what kind of incredible benefits
one reaps from exerting a little mind muscle.

The ones that do, like Phil Jackson for the LA Lakers, see
major benefits including lots of IRON in their glass
showcases.

So if your son has a desire to maximize his talents
on the ball field or maybe you know of a coach
who could use a little extra edge this year,
make sure to forward this Gridiron Mind Power
page to them or repost this note on Facebook.

I have a goal of touching 10,000 young kids lives
with this message.

Best,

Vince Palko

How Champions are Made

Champions aren’t made in gyms.
Champions are made from something
they have deep inside them – a desire,
a dream, a vision. They have to have
the skill, and the will. But the will
must be stronger than the skill.”

Get rid of man boobs now

Yeah, they are embarrassing.  They get in the way.

They are not that pretty to look at…but you know

what?  If you were the guy who got them that way,

you certainly are the guy to make them go way.
I have an embarrassing story of my own

that I share here … http://www.meltmanboobs.com/
So you don’t have to be shy about them

anymore.  You can end the misery once

and for all by applying this simple principle

to your daily activity.

I know you can do it.

Best,
Vince Palko

My Pick for Sunday

So coming down to crunch time here.

I have an avid Steelers fan on this list
so I will be sure to bash them extra good.

My pick is the “Pack.”  Lets make Father Lombardi proud.
If the Pack can pick off Ben Burgermeister more than twice,
the Green and Gold will take it. If not, it’ll go to the Steel Sissies.

Burger Boy isnt going to be the same in the pocket
without the starting center in there. Did you see the back up center
botch the snap in the last game on their own 1 inch line.

Horrible.

That mental movie might just play in both their minds all game.

We’ll see.

Everyone is talking about the Steelers defense but
I thinks the Pack’s DEE will outshine ‘em on Sunday.
Matthews vs Harrison- who is the better of
the two outside LB’s? Good question. Both are tough
as nails.  My bet though is Clay’s blood thirst heart wont
stop beating until he’s holding the “hardware.”

What a great story on that kid.  Walk on at USC who never
got a shot until his senior year. During the trying times, he
went on a chicken breast and egg white
diet to transform his body.  And worked and worked his
speed…to become…a devastating force in the N F and L.

Harrison and Hines Ward heads are too far up the media’s butts
distracted answering questions and trash talking the NFL.
Both slamming the NFL saying its more concerned about
making money than players safety. Give me a break.
Play in the seventies and eighties and you’ll see a league
not too concerned about player safety.

I digress.

So grab the snacky-snacks – you are cleared for Super Bowl takeoff
to enjoy and relax.  We’ll get back on the program Monday bright and early.

Go Pack.

Best,

Vince Palko

Snowed In

Well, we are getting blasted here
in the Midwest.

I went out to shovel the drive and
said to myself is this all you got
Mother Nature.  But realized I better
keep my mouth zipped ’cause more
is on the way.

So here is a workout for the winter you
will enjoy.

Put the “sheet” kickers on and go in the backyard for:

- (4) 10 yard butt kickers
- (4) 10 yard high knees
- (4) 10 yard shuffles

Back inside for 9 minutes of LB Fitness.

http://www.linebackerfitness.com/

30 seconds on and 30 seconds off for 9 big ones.
Set your iPhone timer.

Round out the workout with
a few exercises from
How to Get Rid of Man Boobs in 30 Days
- 2 sets of 10 for the Samson Smash
- 2 sets of 10 for Pushing Sand
- 1 set of 10 for Sidewinder Twists
- 1 set of 10 for Bucket Curls

And finish off the workout with a little peppermint tea
with lemon and honey…then give yourself a pat on the back.

Conditions are such that if you get stranded
in this weather – the outcome could be fatal.
And I want you around for a long, long time.

Stay home and stay warm,

Vince Palko

Your Superbowl Exercises

Well, the “Big Dance” is seven days away.
The Steelers and Packers are making the final adjustments
to their game plans.

106 million people viewed this all day extravaganza last year
and Im sure even more folks around the globe will flip it on.

I’d like to see the Pack win it all. Steelers fans understand
I wont be disappointed if you win your seventh s-bowl. Just excited to
see a game going “down to the wire”– not a blowout.

The interesting thing is the exercises these two teams
will be doing to warm up their high performance engines
are the same ones I teach in the Super Body Blitz.

How do I know these teams will do these?

Football is a game of quick, short burst movements
and so utilizing plyometric drills
is the best way to wake up the fast twitch muscles.

NFL teams have been doing these drills
dating back to when Bart Star and Vince Lombardi led the Pack
back in SuperBowl I.

These exercises work wonders especially if done outside.
Outside with the earth right underneath your
feet on the sod.

Anyway, if you are pumped to try the same exercises
these high powered athletes do then shuffle on over
to Super Body Blitz
and pick up your DVD pack and more.

These exercises fire up your fat burners in only 15 minutes time
without moving more than 15 yards at a pop.

If you want several simple ways to move your body
to torch your fat, then click this page NOW…
This system allows you to progress with the program as you
become skilled in the movements.

We are down to just a few of these programs in stock, so it will be first come
first served before we go on back order.

Give it a shot and let me know how you like it.

Best,

Vince Palko

P.S. Go Packers — make Vince Lombardi proud.

Fat Burning Wrap Recipe

Lately, I’ve been enjoying quick meals for
lunch…ones that burn the fat from your frame.
Today, I’ve outlined one of the many and will give you the recipe to
try.

After you place the last bite in your mouth, Im convinced
you’ll find no other lunch option compares.
At least when it comes to fat burning lunch fare.

Fat Burning Wheat Wrap Recipe

- 1 wheat tortilla
- Turkey breast lunch meat
- 1/4 of a Green Pepper
- 1/4 cup of Onions
- 1 broccoli top
- 2% sharp cheddar cheese

First shred the Turkey breast into 1/2″ chunks. Evenly place
five to six of these chunks around the tortilla.
Sprinkle the cheese on top.  Then slice the onions and green peppers
and sprinkle on top.  Using culinary scissors, cut
up the broccoli top and evenly sprinkle that over everything.

Place this into the oven on a cookie sheet and broil it for 3-4 minutes.

Once done, pull out cookie sheet and wrap up the tortilla shell
immediately.

This nutritious lunch is second to none and very tasty too.
You can make these the night before work and refrigerate
for the next days lunch.

I usually chow two of these and I am energized and ready for the second
half of the day.

Give this a try and let me know what you think.

Lastly, when you are ready to combine the powerful healthy
nutritious FUEL with a great fat burning routine- make sure
to run over and check out my Linebacker Fitness workout-
Fat burning workout.

You dont have to be a linebacker to benefit from
these lean, mean, fat burning machine workouts.

Best,

Vince Palko
