Success Smorgasbord Secrets

Wanna know a few of the key secrets high performing athletes
use to excel in sports and in life?

Key lies partly in the words spoken.
People reveal if they are moving up
in the world or down by the way they talk.

Read on.

Recently, I parked a few stories
in the back of my mind on this topic for you to chew on.

After the world wide televised event,
the MVP, Drew Brees, was asked
to describe the feeling of just winning
the Superbowl.

He said, “This is better than I ever imagined!”

Stop right there.

Let’s analyze that last line of text, better than I ever imagined.

In order to be better than he imagined,
Drew had to be able to “imagine” winning
the Superbowl in his pre-game ritual. Right?

Countless studies have been done on the power
of controlling your thoughts for success during your pre event.

Its so common, most athletes dont even know
they are doing it.

End of story. Or is it.

Another example comes from the slopes.

When many did not know how she’d preform
for one of her down hill runs with a busted up shin, Lindsey Vonn
was off contorting her body in a way
that resembled shadow boxing. In her mind
she traveled down the course quickly leaning left and right without
a pair of skis on.

When she descended
the 30 story mountain in only 1:44 seconds
her result was: one thick, round, golden medal.

How did she navigate the narrow track in lightening
movements back and forth to win glory?

It was her creative imagination in the pre-race mixed
with daily action.

End of story. Or is it.

Onto the hoops courts where one young
man bounced from project to project had dream
to be a superstar.

Hi name Lebron James.

“If you could IMAGINE these walls, they were all NBA superstars.
This wall was completely covered with Michael Jordan.
Over here, this section was Allen Iverson. This wall from
here to here was Kobe. They rest of the space was
filled in with other players I looked up to,” as
he described in the documentary, More than a Game.

Living in dire surroundings didnt stop Lebrons creative imagination
from flowing out of him. And surrounding himself with extraordinary greatness
in his small white-walled bedroom.

Your imagination is more powerful that the will.

Brains learn best from images, and the more intense and the more
positive – they are, the better. Tis crucial to do this… it is.

So this begs the ultimate question: what are you doing to stir
your creative imagination for a better life.

Or are you simply content living your life as is.
