How a Boring Rainy Ohio Day Changed My Life Forever

When I was 8 years old, I was stuck in my house one rainy day.  My mother was a little annoyed with me because I kept complaining...

“Mom, I’m bored.  I’m bored!”

Until finally, she said, “Vince, how can you be bored?  There is a whole stack of blank computer paper sitting next to the phone.  Grab some, your crayons and start drawing. You can create whatever it is you want to create.”

At the time, I didn't realize how profound those words she spoke to me were. But I was hooked.

From then on, you couldn't stop me from drawing. Little did I realize what an unusual effect it would have on my life.

And then years later, one cold December evening back in 1991, my passion for drawing took on a whole new meaning...

One Shocking Picture That Showed Me How To Create Success ON DEMAND...

As a freshman back from college over the holidays, I sat spellbound in my parent’s dusty attic.

After leafing through some brown boxes, one piece of paper popped out of the folder.  I grabbed it.  On the backside was penned, “1987.”  On the front was an image I sketched my sophomore year in high school English class. It was a sketch of me playing Div I. football in a “bowl game.”

Then it hit me like a tidal wave… Goose-bumps formed all over my body.

My dream to play Division I Football on a full scholarship came true

Not only that, but seeing the bowl patches illustrated on my shoulders, astounded me even more.  A few weeks ago, I was starting in a bowl game as a freshman!!

At that moment, I started to realize that whatever I created on paper in the form of an illustration...I brought to life. And it would manifest into reality virtually overnight.

After that trip to the attic, I began experimenting with sketches and drawings. The week prior to an important football game, I used visual imagery to harness my mental focus and preparation.  I drew action-oriented pictures. 

Then when Sunday came around, the rough sketches came to life right in front of my eyes.

I simply focused on the image.  Then I would imagine the action. Or hear the crunch. By having something in front of me to focus on VISUALLY, my mind-power took a Quantum Leap forward. 

Soon, I was succeeding on a major scale.  I was leading the league and team in tackles.  I was nominated for the Butkus Award.  I was selected captain my Junior year and so on. Come twelve years later, and I still hold many records as a defensive player at BGSU.

Now a question you may be wondering... "So you mean to tell me you didn't have to work harder than your teammates to achieve higher success?"

Let me tell you about Div I. NCAA and pro athletics. If you are not pushing yourself to what is expected from a coach- you stick out like a soar thumb. My teammates and I all busted our butts. Yet, what helped me rise to the top was not out hustling them. It was finding ways to creatively tap into the power of my imagination. Plain and simple.

But success didn't stop for me there. Over the years, I used this secret to become a champion athlete, to shave fat from my body and to attract money to me like iron dust to a 500-pound magnet.

Most startling of all was that I was able to create a prosperous career for myself as a cartoonist (ever hear the term “starving artist”!?!?! Unfortunately this is the truth 99.9% of the time)...

In the drawing on the left, I had a goal to receive a $25,000 check.

I didn’t know where I would receive it from... I simply focused on the image of the large check in my hands (illustration left).

Then about a month later I received the actual check written out for $25,000 (pictured on the right)!

Let me point out something that might FREAK you out.  In the photo (right) you can see the date of the actual check was typed ONE day before the sketch version. If you look closely on the illustration -- I started to write “11/07” on the check but penned over it “11/08.”  Keep in mind; I drew the Success Sketch in October sometime.  A month before the sketch was delivered.

When you want something and “dial it in” with a visual… as the old saying goes be careful what you ASK for… Not only will you get it, you may get it QUICKLY.
